Tomorrow night we'll get the chance to experience pure punk-rock-madness, live on stage with Liverpool's local matadors:
Originally starting out as 'The Void' in 2002, The Real Kicks (debut album coming soon!) have literally played their way up to the top of Liverpool's music royalty and simultaneously blazed the way for a new generations of Merseyside musicians.
I'll avoid entangling myself into rather vague comparisons or explanations about the band's motivations or influences other than the fact that The Real Kicks have incorporated something into their music that I like to call 'The Guiding Principle of Rock'.
Having been established by the godfathers of Progressive Rock, The Who, and past down on future generations, it reminds one of the uncompromising nature of Rock'n'Roll:
"Rock and roll never stood for inspectin' an disectin', cause it don't hold up. So shut up!" - Roger Daltrey (The Who)
!!! Special Announcement !!!
Girls, please give those toffee-coloured dresses and perilous heals a rest. Dig out mum's old, shabby black bikerboots and make your way down to BadFormat where you'll get the chance to follow in the footsteps of Pamela Des Barres as long as these guys are still in arm-length distance.
>> The Real Kicks - Tomorrow Night @ BadFormat, with a stunning support line-up: The Grants, The Jacaranda's, Something Personal, Triphazard, Dicks Orchard.
Hosted by Creation Records' tycoon Alan McGee with special guest Paul Gallagher.
Doors @ 8pm. 4adv /6door.
I've heard that these Welsh rock n rollers Something Personal are a force to be reckoned with, early hints of a class act are beggining to show. I've heard they wipe the floor with headline acts and it won't be long until they they are huge! I'll be there to inspect and digest :)
